  1. Jen,
My take on the stuff from your to-read list that I've read (might help you prioritize).
    Shakespeare's Trollop - good stuff
Magic in the Shadows - very good
Enders Game - A true classic
Feast of Souls - sequel out already in my to-read pile, I'd wait till the trilogy is complete.
All Kushiel's stuff - Vintage Carey
    Banewreaker - Ick
A Game of Thrones - horribly depressing, the rest of the series gets no better
The Becoming - Run away, run far far away!
All Kelly Armstrong - good, solid reads
Something from the Nightside - Don't bother

  2. Thanks Jon, that's actually a really helpful list. Couldn't get into Something from the Nightside (waiting for it's round two), and same with The Becoming. The first person startled me and I couldn't get into it after that.

Rule of thumb is: a book gets 50 pages to gain my interest. If I'm not engaged, I set it aside until some later date. Then it gets another 25 pages read, and if I'm STILL no into it, it gets shipped to the used bookstore.
